Book assistance at every stage

Request wheelchair assistance at your UK airport, at any transit airport and at Jeddah or Madinah when you book — not on the day. Confirm it appears on the booking reference in writing.

Choose distance over decor

For elderly pilgrims, a plain hotel five minutes from the gate beats a luxurious one twenty minutes away every time. Also check lift numbers relative to hotel size — waiting 15 minutes for a lift after Maghrib is exhausting.

Mataf and wheelchair tawaf

Wheelchairs are available at the Haram, and the upper levels are far easier to navigate at busy times than the ground floor mataf. Plan tawaf and sa'i for off-peak hours — late morning is usually calmest.

Medication and pacing

Carry a written list of medications and dosages, keep everything in hand luggage, and build rest days into the itinerary. Two ibadah sessions a day with a long afternoon rest achieves more than trying to be in the Haram continuously.
