Best Time to Book Umrah from the UK for the Cheapest Flights

There are two separate questions here: when should you travel, and when should you book. Getting both right can halve the cost of the same itinerary.

Cheapest months to travel

Late September to early December and mid-January to late February are consistently the lowest-priced windows from the UK, with comfortable temperatures in Makkah and Madinah and a far calmer Haram. Avoid Ramadan, Hajj season and UK school holidays if price is your priority.

How far ahead to book

For off-peak travel, 8 to 12 weeks ahead is the sweet spot. For Ramadan, especially the last 10 nights, book 6 to 9 months ahead — prices in that window only ever rise as hotel allocation disappears.

Midweek beats weekend

Tuesday to Thursday departures are usually £40 to £90 cheaper per person than Friday to Sunday, and airport queues are shorter. If you can move your dates by 48 hours, always ask for both prices.

Watch the school calendar

UK half-terms, Easter and summer holidays lift fares from every airport. If you are not tied to school terms, travelling one week either side of a holiday period can save several hundred pounds for a family of four.
