7, 10 or 14 Nights: Which Umrah Package Is Best?

People often ask us to just pick a number of nights for them. We can't, really — it depends on your leave, your budget and your group's pace. Start by counting the hotel nights in each city, then weigh that against the travel days either side.

Seven nights: a focused trip

One current 3-star listing pairs four Makkah nights with three Madinah nights at Emaar Al Manar, priced at £809. A 4+3 split suits travellers with limited leave, but bear in mind that arrival fatigue and the intercity travel day eat into that week. Check the actual arrival and checkout times before you plan worship or visits around them.

Ten nights: a better balance

A current 3-star Al Massa Bader option gives five nights in each city, priced at £809. That even split lets you settle properly in both places, whereas a 6+4 arrangement leans more heavily towards Makkah. Pick the split on purpose rather than booking a ten-night package without checking how it's divided.

Fourteen nights: room to slow down

The current 3-star Emaar Al Noor listing shows eight Makkah nights and six Madinah nights at £649. Don't read that lower price as proof that fourteen nights are always cheaper — it's simply a different hotel with its own (unconfirmed) departure. Compare like-for-like quotes before drawing any conclusions about price per night.

Which length suits which traveller?

A short stay can fit around limited annual leave; a longer one can give older relatives quieter days. Neither guarantees comfort if the hotel route or transfer arrangement doesn't suit you.

  • Limited leave: prioritise workable arrival/departure times and fewer connections
  • First-timers: build in time to settle, learn the route and rest after travelling
  • Elderly or limited-mobility travellers: plan for rest and confirmed assistance, not a packed schedule
  • Families: check bed setups, meal arrangements and how often children will need hotel breaks

Nights aren't the same as days away

A late-night flight can start before your first hotel night even begins, and the return flight often adds a whole extra calendar day. Ask how many paid nights you'll actually get in each city, whether early check-in is included, and where your bags go if checkout happens before the transfer.

Compare the total, not the headline duration

The three examples above are existing advertised prices checked on 13 October 2026, not guaranteed allocations. Ask for the same room occupancy, travel dates and flight conditions across all three lengths so you're comparing fairly, and get rooms, baggage, transfer type and final availability confirmed in writing.
