Our shared planning calendar uses 24 October–1 November 2026 for an October half-term trip with weekends, and 19 December 2026–3 January 2027 for Christmas and New Year. Check your school’s dates and your last permitted return day before comparing flights. October is close at the time of this review, so an advertised hotel example is not evidence that seats remain. Indicative 2027 windows are 13–21 February, 26 March–9 April, 29 May–6 June and 22 July–31 August. February overlaps provisional Ramadan dates, so ask for Ramadan-specific pricing and meal arrangements. For May, check the announced Hajj-season rules before booking. A low star rating does not prove a long walk, and a tower hotel does not guarantee easy access. Compare the exact property, exit, slopes, lifts and the gate you expect to use. Sourced proximity is not the same as a measured pedestrian route. A shuttle option can work for some families, but confirm operating hours and where it drops you off. Tell us each child’s age and the number of adults before comparing totals. Confirm beds, room occupancy, meals and accessible features in writing. Connecting rooms and family suites need specific confirmation; a request is not a reservation. Consider how often children or older relatives will need to return to the hotel, and whether suhoor or breakfast timings fit your plans.
Compare the full journey rather than just the outbound date. A late flight or connection can reduce the first usable day, while checkout and the return flight may extend the time away. Ask whether the itinerary is on one ticket and which baggage and assistance arrangements apply. Direct flights are an itinerary choice, not a guaranteed service from every UK airport. Include airport parking, rail travel and any overnight stay in the family budget.
Send your earliest departure, latest return, departure airports, traveller ages, nights in each city and mobility needs. Compare family Umrah options on the same occupancy and included services. An early enquiry gives time to organise documents but does not guarantee a discount or reserve inventory. Check visa, cancellation and payment conditions before accepting your written quote.
