Fairmont's own pages put the hotel in the Clock Towers complex right beside Masjid al-Haram, and they separate city, Haram and Kaaba-view rooms along with the Fairmont Gold category. Because it's a tower, the internal journey matters as much as the postcode: check the lift sequence and the exit route to the mosque, not just how close the building looks on a map.
Swissôtel describes its position within Abraj Al Bait with a direct entrance via Ajyad Street, and its room comparison page separates room and suite options by view. One thing worth flagging: Swissôtel Makkah and Swissôtel Al Maqam are different hotels, so make sure your booking names the exact property. Easy vehicle access from Ajyad Street doesn't, on its own, confirm a step-free route to wherever you intend to pray.
IHG describes Dar al Tawhid as steps from King Fahad Gate, with room and suite categories listed separately. It's worth comparing against the Clock Towers hotels if a short walk to the gate matters more to you than tower facilities. A Classic Room won't automatically be a mosque-view room or a suite, so get the full room label and bed configuration in writing.
The location details above come from each hotel's own pages, but we haven't personally measured a door-to-gate walking time, and we can't vouch for lift queues, temporary barriers, slope or crowd conditions on any given day. If mobility is a concern, ask for the hotel exit, the gate you'll head for, and whether there's a step-free alternative before you book.
Always compare the same dates, occupancy, board basis, view and refund terms before judging a rate. A Kaaba-view suite and a city-view standard room are two completely different purchases.
