Last Ashra Ramadan Umrah: The Last Ten Nights and Laylat al-Qadr

Ask any pilgrim which part of Ramadan they dream of spending in Makkah and most will say the last ten nights. This final ashra, known as the days of freedom from the Fire (najat), holds Laylat al-Qadr — a night the Quran describes as better than a thousand months. It is the most famous, most spiritual and most heavily booked time of the whole Umrah year.

A longer shuttle-hotel stay can cost less than a shorter walking-distance stay. Ten-night 3, 4 and 5 star packages include complimentary Ziyarat; selected 5 star Clock Tower packages include Makkah breakfast. For Ramadan, ask how breakfast is served as suhoor and whether iftar is included.

Plan a ten-night last-ashra stay

Ask for ten Makkah hotel nights if being there throughout the final period is your priority; ten nights split across two cities is a different itinerary. Compare a shuttle option against a walking hotel using the same flight dates and occupancy. Check late-night return transport, lift access, suhoor service, checkout after the final night and any Eid extension. Prioritise rest and realistic access over a promised view.

When are the last ten nights of Ramadan 2027?

With Ramadan expected to begin around 8 February 2027, the last ten nights would start around 27–28 February, and Eid al-Fitr is expected around 9–10 March 2027. These are estimates; the official moon sighting decides the actual dates.

Laylat al-Qadr — the Night of Decree

Allah says Laylat al-Qadr is better than a thousand months (Surah al-Qadr, 97:3). The Prophet ﷺ told us to seek it in the odd nights of the last ten (Sahih al-Bukhari 2017) — the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th nights. He ﷺ would strive in worship in these nights more than at any other time.

  • Pray qiyam and taraweeh in the Haram if you can
  • Recite: "Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni"
  • Give charity every night so you don't miss the night of decree
  • Consider i'tikaf if your health and plans allow

What to expect on the ground

The Haram reaches its busiest point of the year, especially on the 27th night. Courtyards and roofs fill hours before Isha. Rooms close to the Haram sell out early and prices are at their highest. For elderly or less mobile pilgrims, a hotel with direct Haram access matters more than ever.

How to book the last ashra

Start planning months ahead. Tell us your preferred Makkah hotel, whether you'd like to stay for Eid, and who in your group needs extra support. Seats, rooms and prices for the last ten nights are always subject to availability and confirmed in your written quote before you pay — booking starts from a £50 deposit once you accept your written quote.

Questions about this guide

Umrah Packages and Costs

How early should I book an Umrah package?

Booking early can provide more choice of flights and hotels, especially during Ramadan, school holidays and other high-demand periods. However, early booking does not guarantee the lowest price. Check live availability and the terms attached to the quotation.Compare Umrah packages

How do I compare two Umrah packages fairly?

Compare the same travel dates, number of nights, number of travellers and room occupancy. Check hotel names, realistic walking routes, flight times, baggage, visa fees, transport, meals, cancellation terms and any applicable financial protection. The cheapest headline price may not be the cheapest complete trip.Compare Umrah packages
